Wouter Van Belle, as Wtrx<\/strong>,  is pleased to release Virtual Vacation<\/strong>, an album with soulful reggae and dub grooves, available digital and on vinyl. The album has it roots in a 2002 jam session with long time collaborators Marc Bonne (drums) and Yannic Fonderi (keyboards), the late Jean Marie Aerts on bass and Wouter on Hammond. The session was recorded on a 8-track Studer A80 in Wouter’s then home studio. Two decades later the recordings were transferred, edited, overdubbed and mixed by Wouter at Studio Powertone. Wouter is is a life long reggae fan and produced Flip Kowlier’s 2010 reggae classic Otoradio, sung in vernacular from the West-Flanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a 2 year delay due to COVID restrictions, the official celebration of Wouter being added to Radio 2’s Gallery of Honour, went ahead with live performances of  Flip Kowlier<\/strong>, Helmut Lotti<\/strong>, Axelle Red<\/strong>, Wigbert<\/strong> and Klaas Delrue<\/strong>.

Noordkaap’s ‘Ik Hou Van U’ is one of the six Belgian songs that will feature in the first edition of The European Union Song Book<\/strong>. Half of the selected Belgian songs are written by Jacques Brel.
Ik Hou Van U was first released in 1995 as part of the soundtrack for Manneke Pis, produced and mixed by Wouter Van Belle.<\/p>\n

The European Union Song Book is an independent (not funded by the European Union) non-profit initiative to make 162 songs accessible to people in the member states. The first edition will feature both the original lyrics and the English translation, and is expected for December 2019.<\/p>\n
